Fall Boot Trends of 2017

Fall is a time for cooler weather, falling leaves, Pumpkin Spice everything (from lattes to even pizza!), football, spooky nights and trendy boots! We got the latter covered at Soft Shoe with a HUGE inventory of every type of trendy boot for the Fall/Winter season. So as we are just starting to see cooler temps in the Bluegrass, it’s got us to thinking, “What are the boot trends this Fall?”

It’s Fall Y’all … which means Boot Weather!

Bazaar states this fall that when it comes to boot trends, its about making a statement including anything that glitters, military style boots, urban cowboy boots, boots with embellishments and floral patterns, sky high riding boots (that hit well above the knee), red hot and pure white colored boots, boots with architectural heels, boots with slouch, and velvet boots, which all hit the runway this season.

Popsugar stated, “2017 brings a fresh crop of footwear in exciting new trends like floral booties, red-hot boots, and silhouettes so high they almost touch the sky. With chillier temperatures just a hop, skip, and jump away, you’ll want to do some fancy footwork of your own in trendy booties.”

InStyle says ankle boots are the hit this season because of their versatility, “PAIR THEM WITH … skinny jeans, long tunics or sweaters. An absolute no-no: ankle boots with knee-length skirts or dresses, unless you wear opaque tights to match. LOOK FOR … fun accents like zippers, fur trims, cuffs and a spot of bright color. Don’t hide those details with long, wide pants; these styles are meant to be shown off.” They also suggest Oxford Booties, “PAIR THEM WITH … knee-length dresses and stovepipe pants. They’re a chic alternative to loafers for work; patterned socks and hosiery match well.”

Vogue sums up the season’s Boot trends, “This year, designers did not skimp on their boot game. At Altuzarra Fall 2017, clunky utilitarian lace-ups stretched over the knee, while stacked soles were paired with slip dresses at R13. For those craving something more delicate, soft velvets were equally prevalent for fall, making their way onto platforms, kitten heels, and everything in between. The most comfortable option may be the sock boot.”

Cosmopolitan declares that the biggest Fall trends for 2017 are any boot with statement heels, slouchy boots, lace-up boots, floral pattern boots, boots with funky patterns, pointy toed boots, or accents of fur will bring some heat to your cooler Fall days.
