It’s Martin Luther King Jr Day on January 15, 2018

Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebrates the life and accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. An American Baptist minister and activist, Dr. King became the most visible spokesperson and leader in the civil rights movement, which he promoted through nonviolent civil disobedience. He also helped to organize the 1963 March on Washington, where he delivered his famous “I Have a Dream” speech. He was assassinated in 1968. Martin Luther King, Jr. day became a federally recognized holiday in 1983. The first year this holiday was observed was 1986, and not by all states. In 2000, it became a nationally observed holiday in all states. Martin Luther King Jr. Day takes place on the third Monday of January each year. This year it falls on January 15, 2018.

We have so many brands marked down for clearance we couldn’t possibly name them all here. The shoes, boots, running shoes for kids, women and men are priced so well, they are moving fast so we can’t guarantee that the styles you see in the pictures will still be there in your size. So don’t hesitate, stop in as you’re running errands, picking up groceries at Wal-mart (just 0.3 mile away) or visiting the new Aldi’s in Richmond (we are just across the street) which is opening soon!
