Join us for the 2nd Annual Officer Daniel Ellis Memorial 5K Run/Walk Presented by Baptist Health Richmond. The race will take place on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 8:30am at Richmond Centre Mall in Richmond, KY.
Their packet pickup will be held on Thursday, April 20th from 3pm-7pm at Surge Promotions (307 Jason Dr #4, Richmond, KY 40475). You may pickup packets for family members and friends. No credentials required. There will also be race day packet pickup at Richmond Centre Mall (Near Buffalo Wild Wings & Panera Bread) from 7:00-8:30am.
They will have commemorative race T-shirts, chip timing, overall & age group awards, DJ and post race food. This will be a way for the community to celebrate the life and continued legacy of Officer Daniel Ellis.
They are offering a Student Rate for any students 18 years old or younger who run/walk in the 5K in Richmond. This rate does not apply for our “Virtual Runner/Walker” category. They’ve also created a 5 (or more) Person Team Competition. If you have a team of 5 or more we’ll add the top 5 race times for the 5K of your team to compete against other team. Also the team with the largest number of members will win a prize, so get your team together!
Proceeds will benefit the Daniel Ellis Foundation which is being established to the family. This foundation will support and distribute funds to area causes, charities and individuals that Officer Daniel Ellis would have supported. We hope to raise $75,000 or more for this Foundation which will benefit those in need in Madison County.

Join us for the inaugural Water To Wine 5K on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 7:00pm at Chenault Vineyards in Richmond.
Chenault Vineyards has crafted a scenic 5K run/walk route through their new vineyard’s vines in Richmond KY. The race will be on the trails in and around the grapes in one of the most picturesque locations in Richmond, KY. The race will be timed by RaceRise with overall & age group awards (every 5 years) for both male and female. Runners and walkers are encouraged to join this one of a kind Kentucky event.
Immediately following the race there will be an after party like you have never experience before. Each registered runner (21 and over) will get a wine tasting of a great Chenault Vineyard wine. There will be a cash bar, music, dancing and even a food truck. They are providing opportunities to either replenish calories or burn off calories…you decide. Either way you will have fun. Participants in this race will get access to the after party (with free wine sample), finishers medal and commemorative T-shirt.
Proceeds from the Water to Wine 5K Vineyard Run will be going to some great Run Richmond partners.
- Hospice Care Plus, Inc. is a non-profit organization located in Berea, Kentucky, that has provided quality end-of-life care to residents in our community since 1981. Run Richmond is extremely excited about the partnership we will have going forward with Hospice Care Plus.
- THIRST PROJECT: For this race we felt the call to donate some proceeds to a clean water organization and have chosen Thirst Project. Thirst Project is the world’s largest youth water organization. Run Richmond is focused on creating healthy habits and lifestyles in the young and old and Thirst Project seems to be a perfect charity partner for us.
- Health, Now! Clinic: Run Richmond has an ongoing partnership to support Health, NOW! Clinic. Health Now is a primary health-care clinic to meet the needs of individuals who do not have health-care services or are currently underserved. They provide health care services with an all volunteer staff without regard to patients ability to pay. Health Now is 100% funded from financial donations, in-kind gifts and grants. We are excited to be able to continue our support of Health Now with proceeds from the Water to Wine 5K Vineyard Run.
